Owners Jay and Chelsey Wetzel announced Thursday they’ve bought the building across the street, 921 Broad Ripple Avenue, with a plan to move in late fall.
Union Jack Pub is going into the spot vacated by Seraphim Asian Grill, which opened and permanently closed during the pandemic.

The move gives the pub, which has been at 924 Broad Ripple Avenue for more than 41 years and is known for hosting soccer watch parties, “an enormous patio and loads of outdoor seating,” according to the owners’ announcement on Facebook.
The Wetzels bought the pub in 2013 and opened a location in downtown Westfield in 2020. A racing-themed Union Jack Pub in Speedway is unaffiliated.
“Our main goal when we bought the Union Jack all those years ago was to make sure it lived on … and lived on long past us at that. Purchasing this building helps accomplish that goal,” the couple posted.
Guests should expect minimal disruption in service during the transfer, but might want to get into the longtime digs to take photos of any wall etchings or reminders of experiences had there over the decades.
“At the end of the day, what makes UJP … UJP … isn’t the space we are in. It’s the people. The food. The drinks. Soccer on a weekend morning. A birthday dinner. An engagement,” the post said. “These things are our heart and soul and we will carry them with us wherever we go.”
